Sleeping With Strangers
|
Gideon is a
contract killer that just finished a huge high-profile job
in Florida that earned him a lot of enemies. This job will
make him a millionaire and that much closer to getting the
one woman who he desires: Arizona. She promised Gideon that
she would run away with him if he could earn a million
dollars. Will she keep this promise? With this at the back
of his mind, Gideon hops on a plane to London to hopefully
escape the fallout from this last job. On the plane, he
meets Lola and Mrs. Jones, two very different and mysterious
women. Lola is a struggling actress who’s meeting her
boyfriend in London, and Mrs. Jones is running away from a
dead marriage. But are these women all that they appear to
be? When Gideon finds out that a hit has been put out on
him, he has to decide if these women can really be trusted.
Are they just innocent passengers who have crossed paths
with Gideon or were they sent to do him in?
Sleeping With
Strangers is a riveting novel by Eric Jerome Dickey.
Dickey skillfully dives readers in head first into the
dangerous life of a contract killer. Although Gideon has a
very unsavory profession, you will find yourself rooting for
him when he tries to find out who is after him. Dickey did
an excellent job of making Gideon a likeable,
multi-dimensional character. On the surface, he’s a
professional killer that gets the job done but he also
craves for love and the regular life of a square. Gideon
also has some childhood demons that he needs to come to
terms with. One of the many things that make this novel
stand out is how the storyline takes place almost entirely
abroad. You’ll feel as if you’re getting a personally guided
tour of London and Amsterdam. You can picture the sights and
sounds of both of these interesting locales. This book
wouldn’t be complete without some movie-like, heart-stopping
action and an equally exciting cliffhanger. Sleeping With
Strangers is filled with action, raw emotion and
intrigue that will make you immediately go out and get the
sequel Waking With Enemies.

Gideon is back
with the mysterious man with the broken nose hot on his
heels. Gideon is still reeling from the foot chase he had
with this mysterious hit man and is still trying to find
out who put the hit out on him. But is Gideon really
prepared to handle the truth? To further complicate
matters, Arizona pops back into his life and sucks Gideon
into her own personal deadly drama that he doesn’t have
time for. Gideon’s mind is put temporarily at ease after
an unforgettable heated encounter with two lovely women in
his London hotel room. But he still views everyone as a
potential enemy, even Arizona. Gideon also finds out more
shocking revelations about his childhood from his mother.
Time is winding up and Gideon had better find out who his
real friends and enemies are before it’s too late.
Waking With
Enemies is the perfect sequel by Eric Jerome Dickey.
Dickey smoothly picked up right at the exact scene where
Sleeping With Strangers left off, something that
sequels rarely do. Readers are once again treated to the
action-packed storyline that was featured in the first
novel. This book answers a lot of questions that were left
unanswered in the first book. There are plenty of unique
twists and turns in this story that you must pay close
attention to. In this fast paced drama, nothing is what it
appears to be. Readers will be shocked when it is revealed
who is behind the hit on Gideon. Dickey also included a
healthy portion of intensely erotic sex scenes that
provided a delightful addition to this storyline.
Waking With Enemies is an engrossing page-turner that
will satisfy Eric Jerome Dickey’s existing fans and will
create new ones.

The Cursed
|
Honeymoon bliss
for the Guardian Team is short lived in The Cursed,
Book 9 of the Vampire Huntress Legend (VHL) Series. While
Lilith is making up with the Unnamed One, he tells her
some very interesting information about a secret that she
thought she was hiding from him. While this is going on,
every male Guardian gets weird vibes that something is
going on in hell and knows that it has something to do
with Lilith. So, against the female Guardians pleas, they
go down to Lilith's lair to try and stop any madness
before it begins. In the aftermath of the battle, the
first seal is broken and the Armageddon has been
accidentally started. To keep the Neterus and the Guardian
team occupied while awaiting the birth of the unholy
offspring, Lilith gets appointed chairwoman and is given
permission to reform the vampire council. To help her in
her evil crusade, Fallon Nuit has been reinstated as a
councilman. Also, Lilith resurrects some of the most evil
and nastiest beings who weren't beheaded by an Isis blade.
Those resurrected help to put an evil curse into motion
against Damali. Will the curse hinder Damali in performing
her Neteru duties?
Meanwhile in Nod, with Cains absence, the land is in
chaos. Lilith promised the dark hybrids that they will be
free to fight on her side once the Armageddon comes, so
the darker hybrids are no longer hiding in the dark side
of Nod. They are actively at war with what's left of the
good hybrids in Nod, led by a hybrid named Valkyrie. Will
the good hybrids succeed at keeping the darker hybrids
from escaping?
I read this book and it had my head spinning! As usual,
L.A. Banks hits us with a splendid tale that brings
together action, suspense, mystery, mind-blowing battle
scenes and love scenes. The love scenes are vivid and
tasteful. For those of you who love the Neteru Queens and
Kings, you're in for a treat because they also make
several appearances throughout The Cursed. In this
book, you will be happy to know that everyone on the
Guardian team steps up their game when it comes to
fighting for the LIGHT. Even though it didn't have as much
drama as the previous title, I really enjoyed this
installment of the VHL. This book also has a sneak peek at
Crimson Moon: Bad Blood, L.A. Banks' new werewolf
series that is sure to be a hit! If you're a big fan of
this series, then I highly recommend that you read The
Cursed...especially if you want to find out what
happens to Yonnie.

Sweeter Than Honey
|
After being
kicked out of her mother’s house at the age of seventeen,
Lace St. Thomas was forced into the cold reality of an
adult world that she was not prepared for. She threw
herself into abusive relationships until she realized that
wasn’t what love was about. Lace also learned about the
true power between her thighs. Fast forward thirteen years
later and Lace is now at the top of her game. She is a
madam that operates the exclusive Las Vegas escort service
called Immaculate Perception that serves wealthy,
high-profile clients. Lace is finally living the high
society dreams that she always wanted until one of her top
girls turns up dead. Lace is trying to find answers but
runs into a brick wall when her boss Valentino suddenly
turns against her. Valentino also bribes Lace’s
ex-football player boyfriend Benito to keep an eye on her.
When the world comes crashing down around her, Lace flees
Las Vegas to Atlanta and becomes Honey Thomas and
establishes a new business that will empower and uplift
women. She also finally meets the man of her dreams but
will her seedy past catch up with her or can she finally
live happily ever after?
Sweeter Than
Honey is a daring novel by Mary B. Morrison. Morrison
expertly takes readers inside the glamorous and harsh life
of the Las Vegas sex industry. The storyline is so vivid
that you will be able to picture everything that takes
place in this book. At first glance, this story looks like
it’s just about a madam running an escort service, but
it’s so much more. The underlying premise of this book is
that women must realize their true sexual and mental power
so that they will no longer allow themselves to become
abused by anyone. The character development in this story
is amazing. You will sympathize with Lace as she tries to
rise to the top by any means necessary. Readers will also
find themselves a little pissed off at Benito with his
social commentary when he’s not really doing anything to
better himself. Of course no Mary B. Morrison novel would
be complete without some deliciously erotic sex. At the
end of the novel, Morrison includes daily affirmations,
thought-provoking poetry, and her intimate thoughts on the
subject of worthiness along with fellow authors Naleighna
Kai, Gloria Mallette, and Marissa Monteilh. With
well-crafted characters and an intriguing plot, Sweeter
Than Honey is an exciting start to The Honey
Diaries Series and will have you eagerly awaiting the
next installment.

Venus Parsons is
finally living the life that she always wanted. She’s
happily married to former rap star turned successful
businessman Jake Parsons. Per Jake’s wishes, Venus became a
stay-at-home mom and is enjoying life. But suddenly play
dates and Mommy & Me classes just aren’t enough for Venus.
She wants to go back into the workforce to get her creative
juices flowing. Venus finds the perfect PR job at a local
inner city hospital that’s threatening to close. It seems
like the perfect job until she finds out that her ex
-fiancé. Dr. Clint Fairchild is the head of pediatrics. To

with Clint’s wife Kandi for the same PR job. Things aren’t
good on the home front either because Jake is not too
pleased that his wife is going to be working with her
ex-fiancé. He is also dealing with an employee that is
trying to possibly steal his own company away from him. With
stress on the new job and stress at home, is Venus in over
her head?
Nappily
Married is a wildly entertaining novel by Trisha R.
Thomas. Thomas effortlessly continues the story of Venus
Parsons. While this story does well as a stand-alone novel,
readers are encouraged to read the prior two books before
reading this one to get the real background on Venus and the
other characters. You will feel the uncertainty of Venus as
she struggles with the decision to go back into the
workforce. This author does an excellent job of illustrating
of how tough it can be for a woman to make a life changing
decision like this. You will also see Jake’s side of the
story as he becomes suspicious of Clint and Venus’
interactions at work. There are also a few twists to this
story that will definitely keep you on your toes. What makes
this just a great novel and series is Venus herself. Venus
is a character that all women can relate to on some level.
She tries her best at achieving success while making some
mistakes along the way which is the way real life is anyway.
Nappily Married is emotionally charged and
delightful. Trisha R. Thomas has once again brought us an
exhilarating novel that will satisfy her legion fans.

The Ex Files

Women can deal with heart break in so many different ways.
They can distance themselves from everyone, turn vindictive,
put on a fake front to hide what's really going on, or they
can move on. In The Ex-Files, there are four women
that deal with heartbreak completely different from each
other.
When Sheridan Hart came to terms that her husband broke her
heart after seventeen years of marriage, she found the
strength to move on. And that she did....with a younger man.
Now, he's ready for the lifelong commitment, but there's
something holding Sheridan back. Can she commit to this man,
or does she have the fear that he will break his commitment
to her like her ex-husband did?
Vanessa Martin finds it hard to sleep at night since her
husband committed suicide. She lays awake at night wondering
why he ended his life and left her alone. Now, she's
thinking about leaving this earth the same way her husband
did. What will she decide?
Kendall Stewart has heart break that no one could imagine.
After a business trip ended early, she decides to go home
and surprise her husband. Well, she got the surprise of her
life…her sister in bed with her husband!!! When Kendall is
faced with a decision that will change the lives of her and
her sister, will she choose forgiveness or revenge?
How would you describe Asia Ingrum? Is she a groupie of the
NBA, mistress, or gold digger? According to her, she was
none of the above. She was in love with a NBA star, and he
was in love with her...or so she thought. There was only one
problem: he is married. When he decided that it was time to
end their 10-year affair and work things out with his wife,
this was not a good decision for Asia. She was not willing
to give him up without a fight. The decisions she makes
would not only hurt him and his wife, but also her
5-year-old daughter that loves her daddy. Will the revenge
she seeks destroy their lives?
When Vanessa, Asia, Sheridan, and Kendall receive a
mysterious request from their pastor for a meeting, none of
the women realized that the other was invited as well. Or
that they would have more in common then they wanted to
admit. When tragedy strikes, they soon understand they need
each other more than they know. Will they find true
friendships or will they go their separate ways?
Victoria Christopher Murray has done it again with
The Ex-Files!
This book was a real page turner. I could not put the book
down when I started to read it. It will make you laugh, cry,
and angry during every scenario that each woman goes
through. You find yourself thinking about someone in your
life that reminds you of one of the characters. This book
was well written and reminds you of things that women will
do if their hearts are broken. The way she brought the four
women together that come from very different backgrounds and
bonded them together by faith was remarkable. Trust me, once
you pick this book up, you will not put it down until you've
completed it.

Mitchell's transition into this world was more difficult

her body in the bitter cold in order to gratify her need for
drugs. Oblivious that her body was laboring, Desire
was literally born on the streets of Harlem. Had it

precious bundle would've frozen to death.
Wilding

too comfortable as she’s subject to be removed.
Desperate for some kind of kinship, Desire meets another
young girl, Tiah, in the same predicament and she looks out
for her the way she wished someone would've done with her.
Once again
Hattie Mae gets the opportunity to open her heart as well as
her home taking in Desire as well as Tiah. She offers
the girls comfort, safety, as well as love. Introduced
to religion at Bethel A.M.E Church, Desire also discovers
that she had a powerful singing voice as well as an admirer
in the pianist, Carvelas. With so much going right in
her life, Desire soon backslides to the perils from her past
and the young girl is quickly swept up in the haves and
have-nots. When Desire gets another taste of life’s
cruelty, she sets out to be ruthless in her pursuits.
On a fast track to fame, fortune and finally having it all,
Desire is kicked down again by life. Will this
songstress ever get a chance to sing her praise?
I think I
may be the only person who has yet to read Harlem Girl
Lost. I was worried that reading A Street Girl
Named Desire first might dissuade my interest because so
many authors fall into a slump after having a hit the first
time out. But I can sincerely admit that as an enthusiastic
reader, A Street Girl Named Desire was drenched in
drama, drugs, vengeance, power, pain, envy, love and
hope...all the elements needed to satisfy my hunger for a
good read.

Drama always seems to find its
way in the midst of the congregation at The Sweetwater
Powerhouse of God, thanks to their pastor and his family.
Reverend Ezekiel Goodlove a.k.a. Pastor Gee needs the help
of the Holy Spirit more than ever. He thought he was on top
of his game, and the members of the church were very, very
good stewards. He had nothing to worry about....or so he
thought.
Since the Lord had called his
first wife home, he married Theola Goodlove. Theola gave a
new meaning to the name GOLD-DIGGER!! She was young,
beautiful, and a freak! She knew exactly how to get what she
wanted out of Pastor Gee until she started to have problems
with a group of elders that were named "The Holy Rollers."
They treated her like gum on the bottom of their shoes. If
they weren't talking about her Sunday morning outfits, they
were talking about the latest luxury car she was driving.
She could never prove to them that she belonged with Pastor
Gee no matter what she did. To the Holy Rollers, it was
simply not the "Christian Way." In order for Theola to be
recognized as the new First Lady, she had to get rid of the
Holy Rollers. Will she get her way or just be known as the
gold-digging freak that suckered Pastor Gee into marrying
her?
The eldest son Damien Goodlove
just could not give up his fornicating ways, and his wife
got tired of it. Everyone in the church knew how Damien was.
Whenever a new female member joined the church, he made sure
he welcomed her into the flock the only way he knew how.
Soon his womanizing ways will catch up with him and it may
cost him his wife, children, and even his life.
Reginal Goodlove was the
financial genius of the family. He handled all of the
finances at the church. Just when his dark secret was about
to catch up with him, he left the church and was nowhere to
be found. What will happen when Pastor Gee finally finds his
wayward son? Will he be forgiving and be the father he has
never been to his son? Or will he make sure his son never
works with anyone's finances again?
The youngest son, Barry
Goodlove was supposed to be the one to follow in his
father's footsteps. Soon we find out that's far from the
truth. Barry gets involved with a sex scandal that could
destroy his family and the family of the woman he wants to
marry. Time will tell if Barry will come clean with his
fiancé or will he continue to let the woman who's
blackmailing him stay in control.
Holy Hustler
is a book that is in a league of its own. You will be very
surprised that this book is all about a church, its pastor,
and the congregation. It will make you laugh out loud,
get mad at some of the characters, and even feel sorry for
others. P.L. Wilson did a very good job pulling all
characters together and making sure the plot stayed intact.
Holy Hustler was a good read, and I would recommend

porn career behind for a normal life?
Insatiable is an
engrossing, cautionary tale by Heather Hunter and Michelle
Valentine. These authors give readers a insider’s look into
the porn industry that few people even know about. This book
is not only about Simone’s rise in the adult film industry
but also a coming of age story as well. You see the
transformation of Simone from the somewhat shy, naive
teenager, to a grown woman who knows what she really wants
out of life. These authors do a great job of showing
Simone’s emotional struggles that she has within herself.
Fans are also treated to some tasteful black and white
photos of Heather Hunter that are incorporated into the
novel. The pictures actually set the tone to some of the
chapters which was very unique. Although this is a novel
inspired by Hunter’s own rise in the porn industry, one can
