Gideon is back with more trouble than ever. He just can't leave
that bad Detroit job behind as The Lady of Detroit is out for
revenge. She won't stop hunting Gideon until she has his head on a
silver platter. El Matador and his wife are the assassins that are
hot on Gideon's trail. They are the chosen ones that The Lady of
Detroit has enlisted to take down Gideon. But will their own
internal struggles stop them from completing the job? Gideon soon
gets assistance from a beautiful assassin named Hawks to help him
make out of Antigua alive. With unlikely ambushes and adversaries
around every corner, Gideon will have to come up with every trick in
the book to live another day.
Dying For Revenge is another thriller by Eric Jerome Dickey.
Dickey once again takes readers into the high stakes and dangerous
world of Gideon. Readers will be sucked in immediately from the very
first page of the opening fight scene. There is plenty of
heart-stopping action sequences that will keep you on your toes.
There is a little bit of hedonistic sex but not as much as the
previous novels. Dickey did an excellent job by keeping the focus of
this story on Gideon and the assassins that are after him. This
story wouldn't be complete without an interesting twist. Dying For Revenge
is a true page-turner that will have fans wanting to see more
of Gideon in the future.

Ivan David is a young accountant that has a yearning for something
more. After some brainstorming, Ivan decides to start his own
business by promoting networking events for his rich clients that he
works with. As his events become more successful, Ivan starts to
make a name for himself and catches the eye of Lucina Gallo. Lucina is the
queen of San Diego's nightlife, and no party is complete until she
enters the building. She's a businesswoman that is looking for a new
partner, and Ivan fits the bill. Ivan and Lucina quickly become
partners and are soon the talk of the town due to their highly
successful promotions business. Ivan is swept away into the world of
glitz, glamour, beautiful women and celebrities. Things get a little
complicated when Ivan develops personal feelings for Lucina. Lucina
wants to keep everything on the business level, but will Ivan be able
to wear her down?
Pecking Order is a wonderful novel by Omar Tyree. Tyree gives
readers an in-depth example of how one can make their business
dreams a reality with careful planning. You see how Ivan goes from
being a successful accountant to being the top person for
celebrities and industry promotions. Readers will see the gradual
progression of Ivan as he builds his business, which is what makes
this novel more realistic. You will also see how Ivan's popularity
becomes a gift and a curse when it comes to women. Tyree did a good
job in creating Ivan's character because you really want to see him
make it to the top. This story is also full of all of the trappings
of the affluent such as private jets and multi-million dollar
business deals. There's not a lot of drama in this story, but that's
what makes this story standout. Pecking Order is an entertaining
contemporary fiction novel that will definitely satisfy Omar Tyree's
legion of fans.

Until There Was You is a wonderful love story. It has all the
elements of a traditional romance with the added bonus of suspense.
Mrs. Ray does an excellent job of weaving the two together. The
family aspect is also a very integral part of the story. Until There Was You is a re-release that links the Taggart & Falcon families with
the Grayson's. All of these families are the epitome of what a close
knit family is like. Until There Was You is a wonderful introduction
to the Grayson series and to Mrs. Ray's writing if you have not had

Love, Lies, and Scandal is an electrifying read by Earl Sewell. Sewell
brought a great story about damaging secrets and scandal. This story
brought a new timely twist to very public political scandals. There
are many strong main and secondary characters that make this novel
an enjoyable read. The way Angela and Jesse's stories were tied in
together was seamless and unexpected. Sewell also mixes in some
uproariously funny dialogue that will have you literally laughing
out loud. Love, Lies, and Scandal is a widely entertaining novel that
is full of drama and humor. Earl Sewell has another sure winner on

Mr. Fix-It is a great
book by Crystal Hubbard. Hubbard does a wonderful job with the characters in this book.
The characters were developed perfectly for their roles. The
interracial aspect also fits right in with the story. The secondary
characters added that 'just right' aspect also. Every character made
the story that much better. I also loved the way the author had the man
in the story unsure of himself. Usually it is the woman who is the
insecure one who needs time to deal with issues. It was a nice twist
to the plot.
Mr. Fix-It is most certainly a commendable read.

The Player's Proposal
|
Danica Dansforth is an ex-model who has been swindled by her
accountant, lost her father, needs major
repairs done on her beloved car. Now she has to go to the man who broke her heart for
help. Handsome and eligible Jaden Beaumont has had his heart broken,

He now has the opportunity to get answers from the woman who caused
all the heartache. Danica and Jaden had a whirlwind affair

hands, she can't believe that she let herself get played. Not to be
out done, Danica tells Jaden she has a fiancé and that the fling has
been fun.
The Player's Proposal is a nice read by Angie Daniels. It flows
really well throughout the entire story. It has an age old plot of
misunderstanding that adds to the climax of whether or not Jaden and
Danica will get back together. The main characters are also well
developed along with the secondary characters that contribute to the
overall likeability of the story.

Derrick finds himself at Love Unlimited, a matchmaking service, to

could use to describe Derrick, but none are very flattering. The one
thing that is keeping her from kicking Derrick out of her office is
that she needs him as much as he needs her.
Seducing the Matchmaker is a very good book. The chemistry between
the main characters is excellent. You find yourself routing for them
to be together even with Derrick being Derrick. There is also a
humorous element to the story that is very refreshing. There aren't
many romances that keep you laughing, but Elaine Overton does a

Love T.K.O. is a
good romance novel by Pamela Yaye. The main male character is your classic romantic male,
and the female main character is swept off her feet by him. The
overall flow of the story was good. There were a few instances where
I think the story lagged, but the author did a good job of recovering with
something to pique your interest that caused you to want to know how
that particular plot would play out. Overall, Love T.K.O. was a good
book.

her private moments with her husband and how he used to make her
feel. Now it was like their intimate moments were scheduled and
normally didn't last over 5 minutes. Carla felt that this was a hindrance
in her marriage, but Stanley didn't think anything of it and always
dismissed her feelings. Soon she would find "someone" to
fulfill her needs, and his name was not Stanley Lee. Carla will have
to make a decision about her marriage. Will she continue the
route she's going, or will she let loose and become the passionate

Chasin' Satisfaction
|
Julian and Miko Stevens are a mix-matched couple. Miko
definitely wears the pants as she instructs Julian of each and every
move to make while constantly belittling him. Miko is
successful and thrives on status and kinky sex with strangers in
mundane places. Julian is the only African-American that works
at his architecture firm and dreams of gaining the position of
partner.
Julian is a weak, yet smart man that can't seem to figure out what
he keeps doing wrong. Unable to please his wife or his bosses,
he wins an ostentatious contest and has hope that this will be his
big break. Miko's old boyfriend, Lamont Bainbridge, makes a
surprise appearance with devious thoughts on his mind. Another
blow to Julian's depleted self-esteem as he watches the suave Lamont
put every effort forth to outshine Julian and win Miko's affection
again.
Chasing Satisfaction tells the story of a young man that suffers
abuse continuously. This novel is pretty uneventful, there are
numerous editing
problems, and the characters are lackluster. The plot had a
bit of erotica potential and the author is able to incorporate a murder scene
that completes a grand save. In future projects, Burkett needs to focus more on the structure
of the story to establish an
interesting theme.

Lisa Lennox brings us up to par with Julacia 'Laci' Johnson
only six weeks after her involuntary, horrific experience of
being strung out on crack cocaine. She and her
savior, Darryl 'Dink' Highsmith have enrolled in college in an
effort to escape their drug-infested past. Laci is still
struggling with her demons while finding herself thrust into an
empowering venture in an attempt to regain her self-esteem and
further her education. The college life proves to be
a challenge as Laci must face her fear of interaction with her
peers as well as learning to trust people again. The pain
she endured because of jealous people haunts her as she muses
what she could have did differently or why they hated her so
much.
Dink has retired from ‘the game' and passed the baton to his
young protégé, Smurf, who's adjusting to his new position and
the wealth that comes with it. Smurf wants to change his
mother's way of life, but has to deal with the realization that
the more things change, the more they remain the same. Tonette, Shaunna, and Monique
are all still in the same clique.
Monique yearns for a different way of life and wants
to break the tie that binds her to Tonette and her evilness.
Crack Head II is a sequel that is a questionable follow-up.
The author does indeed answer the few questions that the reader
may have had from the first read, but six weeks is hardly long
enough to truly make a difference in a sequel. There is no
definitive growth in the key characters, and the secondary
characters proved to be more interesting. The
storyline had potential, but the author fails in delivery.

Solomon didn't have things so easy. He was always in
competition with Abel. If Abel went to a private school, Solomon
did too. If Abel bought a new car, Solomon did even though he
couldn't really afford it. Solomon went as far as to date the

sure he
never wore the same outfit twice, and always had money to

FLOSS was a good book by Monica Marie Jones. It showed
the inside world of what people do to uphold a certain image. I
enjoyed how the author broke up each chapter by character. By
doing this, it really helped you focus on each character
separately. Monica Marie Jones really

they all have to reflect on who they really are, what has gotten them to that point,
and then accept it
and move on.
Reflections was a quick and easy read by
Vermel Kinmon. The
characters were down to earth and kind of
believable. There were some twists and turns
that you
didn't see coming, which made the story a bit
more interesting. I think Ms. Kinmon has a
wonderful talent. The story was pretty short but
to the point. After reading
Reflections, I certainly look forward to reading anything
else that the author puts out in the future.
