Urban Reviews: Tell our
readers about Road To Seduction.
Ann Christopher: Thanks for having me
stop by! Here's the short blurb I've been using: Millionaire
Eric Warner and girl-next-door Isabella Stevens are about to
go from best friends to lovers, with a whole lot of rocky road
in between...
Urban Reviews: Where did
the inspiration for this novel come from?
Ann Christopher: I can't really remember
at this point, although I knew I wanted to deal with a
friends-to-lovers story line. And I fell in love with Eric,
who was a supporting character in TENDER SECRETS, and thought
he should have his own story.
Urban Reviews: What
motivated you to want to become an author?
Ann Christopher: Well, I've always loved
love stories and always loved writing. At some point it just
made sense to put them together, I guess. Oh, and I read
Stephen King's On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft, which
is an excellent book that gave me the boost to get started. I
highly recommend it to beginning writers.
Urban Reviews: What has
been the most rewarding part about being a published author?
Ann Christopher: Wow...hard to say. I've
formed many wonderful friendships with other writers, enjoy
hearing from readers and love the personal fulfillment that
comes from writing books. How's that?
Urban Reviews: Do you see
yourself venturing out to writing other genres in the future?
Ann Christopher: Funny you should ask!
I've sold a romantic suspense series to Kensington and turned
in my first book a couple of months ago. No publication date
yet, but the series is about a group of DEA agents and their
struggles to bring down a drug kingpin. The first book is very
dark and gritty, although I think it still has the passion and
emotion I've tried to bring to my other books. We'll have to
see what my editor says about it...
Urban Reviews: If you go
change one thing relating to your literary career, what would
it be?
Ann Christopher: Change one thing? Can I
make the writing process any easier or quicker? Can I eat
unlimited chocolate while sitting at the computer without
gaining any weight? Can I make my editors pay me a million
dollars per book? Yes? No?
Urban Reviews: What upcoming
projects can we look for in the future from you?
Ann Christopher: Well, as I mentioned, I
have this romantic suspense series coming up, and I will
continue to write for Kimani Romance. My next book is
scheduled for September and it's called Campaign For
Seduction, about Senator Jonathan Warner, who's running
for president and about to fall for the WRONG woman. Also,
I've got a novella in the June Berkley anthology, Tails of
Love. And if anyone would like to check out my free online
read, One Night Only, they can view it here:

Urban Reviews: Do you
have any favorite authors or books?
Ann Christopher: Too many to say! I'm
reading a lot of romantic suspense right now, and just
finished Karen Robards' latest, PURSUIT, which was quite good.
Urban Reviews: What
things should every aspiring author learn before jumping into
the book business?
Ann Christopher: The craft. Study hard.
Improve your skills. Here's a list of some of the books that
have most helped me:

Urban Reviews: Is there
anything else you would like to share about yourself or your
novel?
Ann Christopher: About me: I love to cook
and make a mean guacamole. Here's a link to my favorite
recipe, which comes from Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa:

About Road To Seduction: it's an emotional read. You
*might* need a box of tissues when you read it. Thanks
again for having me! It's been fun! |
