Janet Tabera has always wanted to make a mark in the world and feels she has taken the first step with writing One's Heartache Another's Soulmate. Her first journey with literature started with writing poems and a couple of children s stories which she would read to her children.

Janet works full time as a Business Analyst for Computer Science Corporation and has received a Texas Real Estate license. Her inspirations in life are God, her husband, parents, children, and sisters. She is an outgoing person and loves to meet new people. In her spare time she likes to read, sing and be around family. Janet Tabera was raised in Monroe, LA and decided to move to Dallas, TX at age 19.

Janet currently resides in Mesquite, TX (a suburb of Dallas, TX) with her husband and two daughters.

Urban Reviews:  Can you tell us what your latest book One's Heartache Another's Soulmate is all about?
Janet Tabera:  One's Heartache Another's Soulmate is about finding your true soulmate.  Ever thought you found the one and realize they are your heartache instead of your soulmate?  The book covers two stories of how characters discover their heartaches and soulmates. 
 
Urban Reviews:  How did you come up with the storyline for this book?
Janet Tabera:  The story came to me one day after realizing how many heartaches I had gone through until I found my true soulmate.  This inspired me to tell readers they are not alone.  We have all been there and done it.

Urban Reviews:  What things did you do to help prepare yourself for the book business? (read books, take a writing class, etc)
Janet Tabera:  I love to read books and read a lot prepare for the book business.  I have done a lot of research on marketing and how to promote my book.

Urban Reviews:  What has been the most challenging thing for you to face in regards to your book?
Janet Tabera:  The most challenging thing I have faced in regard to my book is marketing.  It is hard work and take a lot of time and dedication.

Urban Reviews:  With the African American fiction market expanding so much, does it concern you that your book will be overlooked by the masses?
Janet Tabera:  It really doesn't concern me much.  I do understand right now with the economy the way it is and the African American book market expanding, it is hard to get out there.  I have a product that I believe in and I will find a way to get viewed by the masses.

Urban Reviews:  Can you describe the first day you held a final printed copy of your book?
Janet Tabera:  The first day I held a final printed copy of my book, I felt overwhelmed with a sense of joy and accomplishment.  I smiled the remainder of the day.

Urban Reviews:  Do you have any upcoming projects that readers can look forward to?
Janet Tabera:  Yes.  I am currently writing the sequel to debut novel One's Heartache Another's Soulmate titled Karma Has No Heart

Urban Reviews:  What is the best advice anyone has given you when it comes to promoting your novel?
Janet Tabera:  The best advice I have received is from my publisher, Therone Shellman.  He said, "If you can't speak about your book and get people interested in it enough to buy it, then who can?"  With that information, I began to carry my book with me everywhere I go. 
 
Urban Reviews:  Do you have any favorite authors or books that you enjoy reading?
Janet Tabera:  One of my favorite Authors is Kimberla Lawson Roby.  I have read all her books and love the way she write.
 
Urban Reviews:  Is there anything else you would like to share with us about you or your books?
Janet Tabera:  I am dedicated to my dream and will continue to strive to make a success of my career as a writer.  I have always wanted to make a mark on the world and I truly believe that writing my novel and doing everything to get it published was the first step in seeing my dream come to reality.
