Urban Reviews:  Tell us about Good Girls Pole Riders Club.
Kimona Jaye:
Good Girls Pole Riders Club is the story of four friends coming to terms with the state of their lives, relationships, and personal expectations. When one of the friends finds a stripper's card in her guy's back pocket, she convinces her girlfriends that it's time to step their games up. The four of them invest in a portable stripper's pole and the world changes drastically from there.

Urban Reviews:  Where did you come up with the idea for this novel?
Kimona Jaye:
G.G.P.R.C. started as a simple idea—my girlfriend and I decided it was time to spice up our own relationships and things took off from there. After a few weeks, I decided that I thought I wanted to get a pole. We laughed our butts off. Good Girls Pole Riders Club series was born.

Urban Reviews:  Will there be a sequel to Good Girls Pole Riders Club?
Kimona Jaye:
Yes. I am currently working on the second book of five. The second one is a little more steamy, okay a lot, more steamy than the first. The main characters continue and I introduce more detail about Karina's story. By the end of the series, you will know each character very, very well.

Urban Reviews:  How did you get into the business?
Kimona Jaye:
By the time I turned twenty (and a few years have passed since then), I knew I wanted to be a writer. I started taking writing classes and trying to hone my skills. I think anytime a person really wants to do something, they find a way. I would say it was the same with me. I've worked on several projects so far, but I have to say, this is my favorite.

Urban Reviews:  Did you choose your genre, or did your genre choose you?
Kimona Jaye:
I honestly think I chose my genre. I wanted to write something that was sexy and cinematic with emotional depth and characters that feel like people you know. I think I also wanted to write something that people can read on a couple of different levels—you can read it on the entertainment level or you can really examine the issues and dialog about how you feel about them.

Urban Reviews:  Any upcoming projects in the works?
Kimona Jaye:
My head is full with ideas, but for now, I am focusing on the Good Girls Pole Riders Club series. I've also done some really fun pole dancing events in LA and NY. I want to do some more.

Urban Reviews:  What advice would you give to someone wanting to get into the business?
Kimona Jaye:
Be persistent and follow your spirit. I think every writer has an idea about what they really need to do or what they need to learn or find out about to make their dreams happen. Don't be afraid to put in the work. Don't be afraid of the people around you that don't believe in your vision. Keep your goal in the front of your mind and don't let anything stop you. If you only have an hour a day to work on your book, put in the time (instead of watching TV or whatever).

Urban Reviews:  Name one thing that the world does not know about Kimona Jaye-the person?
Kimona Jaye:
Wow. You have me thinking. Hmmm. The only thing that is coming to mind right now, is that I am a really family-oriented person. In conjunction with loving our husbands and kids and such, I think as our parents grow older, it is really our time to take care of them. I see too many elderly people with adult children going without and living lonely. They've put in their work (on us). I haven't started my family yet, but hopefully my child (children) will think the same way.
