SEcrets) is the author of the first urban drama story ever told and
released under A Million Thoughts Publishing. N'Tyse founded the company back in
2006 when she was going through a bit of mental distress. Mostly from trying to
decide if she wanted to seek a publisher or test the waters on her own. After
some heavy consideration, she went ahead and chose to put it out herself. Read An Excerpt from My Secrets Your Lies:

Urban Reviews: Tell us about My Secrets
Your Lies. N'Tyse: My Secrets Your Lies is a New Urban Drama Experience! This is a story of two women who both share the pain of troubled pasts. Finding comfort in each other, Sand and Rene try to live a normal life as a heterosexual couple. Only society want let them forget that they are both one in the same. Sand feels she’s all the man Rene needs but hasn’t a clue that her lover has strayed away for one too many nights, finding herself in a predicament that she’ll never be able to explain, let alone forget. But that’s only the half of it. What happens when it all hits the fan, covers are blown and everything’s not so downlow anymore? My Secrets Your Lies takes you on a joyride into the life of everyday reality while getting a refreshing peek at the first urban drama story ever told. Shameful Pasts, Deadly Secrets, Murderous Lies! Urban Reviews: What prompted you to create this type of storyline and the main characters Sand and Rene? N'Tyse: I wanted to shed some light on this "lifestyle" that we see everyday but are too ashamed or simply uninterested in recognizing exist. Sand and Rene were perfect characters because in writing this, my aim was to offer insight on these "stud & femme" relationships that are becoming more common today than ever. Even in our youth. Urban Reviews: Will there be a sequel and when can we expect it? N'Tyse: Of course. I’m not finished with it yet. The sequel is scheduled to be released in 2008. Urban Reviews: You released this book under your own publishing company, A Million Thoughts Publishing. Why did you choose to self-publish your debut novel? N'Tyse: Honestly, it was my first choice from the get-go. I wanted to test the waters and make sure this was my calling. I also received offers from numerous smaller companies that wanted to publish my work, but with research, advice and my prayers being answered, publishing the book myself was going to be the best avenue for me to take. I also enjoyed the creative control I had over my book from the interior to the exterior. Urban Reviews: Would you consider signing with a major publisher in the future? N'Tyse: Yes. Urban Reviews: Can you give us a sneak peak at your next novel? N'Tyse: Chyna is back and she’s bringing her crew with her. It’s tax season and the numbers are up. Time to collect what’s due. Sand has sacrificed herself so that her girlfriend remains unharmed after finding out this entire ordeal was a set up from the start. Or is she really set out to take revenge on those that have hurt her, including Rene? Rene not far behind feeds into the poison and blindly walks into traps she help create. When does one stop loving their first love? Is it after almost losing your life for them or when someone else appears in the picture and reveals their true intentions. Stud Princess is coming with more jaw-dropping, panty-bunching, irresistible drama that you want be able to get enough of. Urban Reviews: How has your experience in the book industry been so far? Is it all that you hoped it would be? N'Tyse: It’s been just that. Experience. A lot of hard work and dedication. I knew starting my own company would come with more than just throwing a name I created on the back of a book, to be able to say, "That’s my company." Haha! But I had no idea that it’s a full time job in itself. But I’m committed and I have no regrets. Urban Reviews: Did you choose erotica or did erotica choose you? N'Tyse: Both. I love to write sexy stories that make you want to run and take a cold shower. And sometimes after the story has been set, I would still find myself reiterating those steamy love scenes. Mainly focusing on making it more vivid while still hoping to leave something to the imagination. So there would be when it started taking over me. (laughs aloud) I also write in other genres such as street lit, contemporary, and surely my own, URBAN DRAMA. Urban Reviews: Name one thing that the world does not know about N'Tyse, the person. N'Tyse: I am a lyricist. I write and produce music. (Rap & R&B) |
