Urban Reviews: Tell us
about Holy Hustler. P.L. Wilson:
Holy Hustler is about the dysfunctional members of the
fictitious Mega Church-Sweetwater Power House of God. The
pastor hustles parishioners, and the deacons prey on female
members of the congregation.
Urban Reviews: What
inspired you to create this storyline? P.L. Wilson:
I started listening to church folk
talk about the drama going on in their churches, then I
allowed my imagination to run wild. I wanted to call
attention to they hypocrites who are often found in
churches, they judge people like me (not perfect in my walk
with Christ) but consider themselves holier than thou, and I
thought it was ironic.
Urban Reviews: When
can we expect Holy Hustler 2 to be released? P.L. Wilson:
I'm not sure, either Dec. 07 or Jan.

Urban Reviews: How
did you make the transition from being a broadcast
journalist to an author? P.L. Wilson:
Prior to becoming a journalist, I've
always had a passion for reading and writing-I believe a lot
of people write, some are blessed and fortunate enough to
earn a little money doing so. It wasn't really a transition,
because I've been reading and writing ever since I could.
Urban Reviews: You
also write under the name of Pat Tucker. Why did you decide
to do this? P.L. Wilson:
I pitched two different types of
stories simultaneously, but my first book deal was under P.L.
Wilson, and I wanted to distinguish the two, so I used my
maiden name for the second deal.
Urban Reviews: Are
you working on any upcoming projects? P.L. Wilson:
Under Pat Tucker I have
The Hook Upand
Infidelity. I
have a short story in the following Anthologies: "Armed &
Dangerous" in
Around the Way Girls 3
and "Closet Freak" in NY Times Bestselling author Zane's
Caramel Flava. Upcoming
titles include "The Night I fell in Love" in the anthology
Summer Breeze (July
'07) and
Led Astray (Aug. '07).
Urban Reviews: What is
the biggest lesson that you've learned about the literary
industry?
P.L. Wilson: Everyone
isn't as friendly as you'd like.
Urban Reviews: What
do you want people to know most about you? P.L. Wilson:
I'm a nice person with an interesting
imagination-I don't want to be perfect and I understand and
accept that I'm far from it.
