Urban Reviews: How did
the concept for this book come about?
R. L. Davis: The concept of the book came
about to me thru a short story. I also felt like this was
something that wasn't talked about in the literary world.
Urban Reviews: What was
it that pushed you to want to become a writer?
R. L. Davis: The words because it was a
way for me to express my thoughts.
Urban Reviews: What has
been the biggest challenge with regard to your novel?
R. L. Davis: The biggest challenge has
been making sure that others get educated.
Urban Reviews: What are
your ultimate goals as far as the book industry?
R. L. Davis: To bring substance back to
it because some of that is lacking. To make my publication
house known. To just keeping striving to be the best writer I
can be.
Urban Reviews: What
things did you do to help prepare you on your literary
journey?
R. L. Davis: Educate myself about this
business. Talk to known and unknown authors.
Urban Reviews: Do you
have any ideas or plans for an upcoming project?
R. L. Davis: Yes. Right now I'm working
on the second and third book for the underneath it all series.
The second book will be called "The Diary" and it's the follow
up.
Urban Reviews: Do you
have any favorite authors or books?
R. L. Davis: I like EJD, Mary B Morrison,
and Kimberly Lawson Roby. I have came across a lot of writers
that aren't published yet and I'm a fan of their work. Also a
huge a fan of Sister Souljah.
Urban Reviews: What
things do you like to do outside of writing?
R. L. Davis: Spending time with my son,
my frat brothers, and teaching music to the kids at church.
Urban Reviews: Is there
anything else you would like to share about yourself or your
novel?
R. L. Davis: I hope all that read this
novel get something out of it. |
