Urban Reviews:  Tell our readers about Truth Be Told.
Skye Warner:
Truth Be Told is a multicultural fiction revolving around Soria, a stripper who’s veiling a covert life. Soria Livingston finds herself having to make a choice between being the perfect mother to a daughter that she never wanted or living the glamorous life she’s always dreamed of. Her desperation and selfish motive entices her to choose the latter. Through the course of this decision, she is living a life captivated by a lie.

As Junior Partner, Remmi works hand-in-hand with Joshua. The two go on a business trip and get more than they bargained for. As they struggle to maintain a professional business relationship, the chemistry between them proves to be undeniable. Within time, Joshua invites Remmi to a dinner party and the route of events takes a drastic turn.

Urban Reviews:  Where did the inspiration for this novel come from?
Skye Warner:
The inspiration for the novel really came from reading other great novels and from there we created our own story line. It started with a thought and once we got it on paper the ideas just continued to spill out.

Urban Reviews:  What made you want to try your hand at writing?
Skye Warner:
I have such a passion for good novels and I found that I was getting somewhat bored. I grew this desire to get involved and create my own characters and my own stories. I wanted readers to get lost in my books and grow an interest in the characters that have evolved in these books.

Urban Reviews:  What are your goals as a writer? Do you see yourself doing this long term?
Skye Warner:
My goals are to write more novels, of course, but not limit myself to one genre. I want to explore mystery, suspense, maybe even non-fiction. I would like to carry on characters that have meaning to the readers. Characters that they want to know more about. I can definitely see myself doing this long-term. Writing has become such a passion for me.

Urban Reviews:  What has been the best advice you've gotten so far from another author in the business?
Skye Warner:
The best advice I have gotten from other authors is to be persistent and market yourself as much as possible. If no one knows your book is available, no one will know to read it.

Urban Reviews:  If you go change one or more things relating to your book, what would it be?
Skye Warner:
If I could change one thing about the book it would be to be more descriptive. We could have, perhaps been more detailed in some areas. This was our first book and it was a great learning experience for us. We have matured in our writing since and continue to mature.

Urban Reviews:  Do you have any ideas or planned releases for the future?
Skye Warner:
Yes, we are currently working on a third novel. This one has a lot of suspense and mystery. We enjoyed tackling that genre and we plan to opt for an agent this time around.

Urban Reviews:  Do you have any favorite authors or books?
Skye Warner:
Most definitely, my hands down favorite author is Eric Jerome Dickey. He was my first eye catching read and possibly what helped developed me into becoming a writing. He wasn’t the first book I read but the first book that pushed me to write. I especially enjoy his commentaries at the end where he describes previous ideas he had for the book, what he did or didn’t do in the book, etc.

Urban Reviews:  What are your thoughts on the book industry as a whole?
Skye Warner:
I think the book industry opens doors and give opportunities to those who pursue and those who have an idea or a novel that screams “best seller”. I also believe that there are so many avenues nowadays especially when it comes to self publishing which has opened doors for new writers/ authors or not so popular authors. If you have confidence in your storyline and work diligently at pitching your book, you will succeed in this industry.

Urban Reviews:  Is there anything else you would like to share about yourself or your novel?
Skye Warner:
Yes, go get the book!! Get to know the characters. This is the beginning of this story line and it just continues from here. We are definitely working on part two after the completion of the third novel. Our second novel, Shades of Deception, is now available at Amazon.com.
