Secrets Too Many Lies.
Sonya Sparks:
It's about a controlling mother who learns the hard way
that you cannot manipulate people's lives.
Urban Reviews: What did you come up with the idea for
this story?
Sonya Sparks:
One day I started writing and it all seemed to just fall
into place.
Urban Reviews:
How has this whole literary experience changed you, if at all?
Sonya Sparks:
After getting published, I am now more than ever
determined to succeed as a writer.
Urban Reviews:
What are your goals as a writer? Is it something you
would like to do long-term?
Sonya Sparks:
I want to be a household name. Lol, I'm thinking big TV or
even movies.
Urban Reviews:
Do you have any upcoming projects that you are working on? (if
so, when can we expect it?)
Sonya Sparks:
I am working on a couple of things at the moment so keep
your eyes out for me.
Urban Reviews:
How do you feel about the state of African-American fiction?
Did you expect it to be this competitive in regards to
promoting your own novel?
Sonya Sparks:
I like the variety of African American Fiction out there,
and when it comes to promoting my novel, I had no false
pretenses on how things would be.
Urban Reviews:
Do you have any favorite authors or books?
Sonya Sparks:
Brandon Massey, Evie Rhodes, Eric Jerome Dickey, Carl
Weber, Donald Goines; there are so many writers out there I
enjoy that I can't name them all.
Urban Reviews:
What things would you change about the book industry?
Sonya Sparks:
I'm still new to this so at the moment I have no
suggestions.
Urban Reviews:
If you had the opportunity, what would you have done
differently in regards to your novel?
Sonya Sparks:
There are a lot of things I would have done differently,
but I'm taking everything in as a learning experience so that
each novel I write will be better than the last.
Urban Reviews:
Name one thing that the world does not know about Sonya
Sparks...the person.
Sonya Sparks:
I'm a very compassionate person.
