Urban Reviews:  Tell us about Perfect For You.
Sylvia Lett:
Perfect For You is love story of Samantha and Alex. Samantha is torn between loving Alex and keeping him at a distance. They share a past, but she's not sure they can have a future. Alex is willing to do whatever it takes to prove her wrong. The novel was released on March 6, 2007 by Dafina, a division of Kensington Publishing.

Urban Reviews:  Where did you come up with the idea for this novel?
Sylvia Lett:
I have a million and one ideas playing out in my head. This novel was originally the 3rd book in a series.

Urban Reviews:  How did you get into the business?
Sylvia Lett:
I was writing for years, without even getting the nerve to submit anything to a publisher. It was actually my ex-husband who told me to go for it. I followed my dream by self-publishing my first two novels, For Christina's Sake and I Wish I Had Waited.

Urban Reviews:  You also have your own company Lett's Dream Big Publishing. Can you tell us more about this venture?
Sylvia Lett:
Lett's Dream Big Publishing started as just that, my dream. The dream is now a reality. Under Lett's Dream, I am producing and directing I Wish I Had Waited, the play. This is our 3rd curtain. The play will be at Carpenter Performance Hall in Irving, Texas on April 7th at 7:00. I Wish I Had Waited is my 2nd novel, which was released in October 2004. It promotes abstinence in teens.

Urban Reviews:  What is your impression about the literary industry so far?
Sylvia Lett:
It's not easy breaking into it. There is a lot of material out there and it's not all quality material.  From the stories I've heard, I feel I'm one of the lucky ones. I've met a lot of wonderful people and life long friends.

Urban Reviews:  Can you tell us about your next novel?
Sylvia Lett:
I am working on several projects at the moment. One is a romance - through Kensington. The other is an action adventure romance.  The last one is another idea for a play.

Urban Reviews:  Do you feel more African-Americans are reading?
Sylvia Lett:
Yes. It's wonderful to see more African-Americans reading and writing. It's nice to have choices in literature.

Urban Reviews:  What advice would you give to someone wanting to get into the business?
Sylvia Lett:
Do a lot of research before choosing an agent and publisher.  There are so many disreputable people out there just waiting to take your money and stomp on your dreams. Be very wary of people too willing to help. Follow your dream, but do it wisely.

Urban Reviews:  Anything else you would like to add about yourself or your novel?
Sylvia Lett:
Perfect For You is available nationwide. Pick up your copy. You will be glad you did! Prayerfully, I Wish I Had Waited, the play will be coming to a city near you soon! Tyler Perry watch out!
