Urban Reviews: Can you tell us what your latest book The
Bishop's Daughter is all about?
Tiffany Warren: The Bishop's Daughter is about a blogger named Darrin
Bainbridge who wants to launch his writing career by exposing a
scandal on a mega church pastor. Darrin gets more than he's
bargained for when he meets the bishop's oldest daughter Emoni.
The main theme of the novel is forgiveness, and I also wanted to
show a character at the beginning of their Christian walk.
Urban Reviews: How did you come up with the concept for this novel?
Tiffany Warren: I don't know where the ideas come from! LOL! But I do think
that this is another story that will speak to my readers.
Urban Reviews: What things did you learn from your time with Walk Worthy
Press?
Tiffany Warren: The biggest thing I learned is that the only thing constant
in the publishing industry is change.
Urban Reviews: What has been the biggest lesson you've learned so far about the
book industry?
Tiffany Warren: That it's about so much more than writing...but
writing is the MOST important part.
Urban Reviews: What was the best advice that you've ever received from another
fellow author?
Tiffany Warren: To not be afraid to promote my work. I never
want to come across as immodest, so I've spent a lot of time
downplaying my accomplishments. This is a no no in the
publishing industry.
Urban Reviews: What do you hope to accomplish in the literary world? If
given the opportunity, do you think you could sustain a long writing
career?
Tiffany Warren: I just want to keep being able to put the pen to the
paper, and keep being blessed with good stories. Of course, I
think I can sustain a long writing career. I hope to.
Urban Reviews: What upcoming projects can we look forward to from Tiffany L.
Warren?
Tiffany Warren: My young adult series from Kensington! The SO
FOR REAL series starts with book 1 - Step To This. It will be
released under my pen name, Nikki Carter, at the end of February.
Also, in 2010, I've got another adult fiction novel called In the
Midst of It All about a young woman with a prophetic gifting that
escapes a Christian-like cult.
Urban Reviews: Do you find promoting Christian fiction to the masses to be a
difficult task?
Tiffany Warren: I find book promotion in general to be a
difficult task.
Urban Reviews: What author do you admire in the book industry and why?
Tiffany Warren: You
know, I really admire ReShonda Tate Billingsley. She's so real
and she treats new authors with respect. She's been a great
mentor to a lot of new authors.
Urban Reviews: Is there anything else you would like to share with us about you
or your books?
Tiffany Warren: This is the third year that I'm presenting the Faith
and Fiction Retreat and I'm so excited about it! The dates are
July 16-19, 2009 and it will be in Orlando, FL. It's a great
event that puts faith fiction authors together with readers.
