Urban Reviews: Tell us about
your debut novel The Liar's Truth.
Ty B. Moore: The Liar's Truth is a novel
about three people that happen to work in different veins of
the entertainment industry. A professional basketball player,
a multi-platinum recording artist, and an actor all make
attempts to use their wealth to remedy their adverse
situations.
Urban Reviews: Where did you come up with the idea
for this story?
Ty B. Moore: Honestly, the idea just came to me.
I had read a book that was just too predictable for my tastes.
I grabbed a pen and a pad of paper and just started writing.
Six months later, I had the first version of The Liar's
Truth typed and ready to be proofread
Urban Reviews: What was the hardest part about
writing your book?
Ty B. Moore: The hardest part about writing the
book came once I had completed the manuscript. Because I was a
first-time author, I didn't know what to do with my materials
once I finished them. I am still feeling my way through the
literary industry today!
Urban Reviews: Do you have any plans for future
projects?
Ty B. Moore: I am currently working on two
projects: the sequel to The Liar's Truth as well as
another novel, both works are yet to be titled.
Urban Reviews: What is your main motivation for
writing?
Ty B. Moore: My motivation to write comes from
the various responses that I have received from people who
have read my first book. Their encouraging words as well as
their feedback makes me push myself to tell more stories.
Urban Reviews: What do you like to read in your
spare time?
Ty B. Moore: I read some of everything! Some of
the authors on my shelf are Eric Jerome Dickey, Omar Tyree,
Terry McMillan, Kevin Liles, Ernest Hill and Margaret
Johnson-Hodge. I just finished reading a book called Two
Wrongs Don't Make A Right by Brenda Hampton; it was a good
book!
Urban Reviews: What has been your biggest lesson
learned from your experience as a new author?
Ty B. Moore: My biggest lesson learned is never
be afraid to try new things. Before writing my book, I never
had the desire to become an author. The Liar's Truth has
opened new doors for me that I never knew existed.
Urban Reviews: What do you want the world to know
most about Ty B. Moore?
Ty B. Moore: Just know that I am human. The Lord
has blessed me with a tremendous gift and I plan on using it
for years to come. I don't believe in quitting something that
I have started. Whether one believes in my dreams or not, I
will see them through to the end. Keep your eyes open for my
books; the best is yet to come!
