Urban-Reviews.com Presents Who Wants To Be A Romance
Reviewer?
Urban Reviews is looking for a new reviewer for the website who can
review Romance titles on a regular basis.
There are a number of Black Romance titles released every month and
we feel it's time that we featured them more prominently on our
site.
We have featured a few in the past, such as Francis Ray, Brenda
Jackson, and Niobia Bryant...but even these have been few and far
between.
So the time has come for us to search for someone to become the
Urban Reviews' Next Top Reviewer!
Here are the guidelines
for this selection process:
1. You must be an avid
Romance reader and not an
occasional Romance reader. There's no real way to prove this, so
throwing your hat in the ring means that you indeed read a lot of
Romance. Also, authors are
ineligible
for this position.
2. You must submit at
least one sample Romance review,
but no more than 3 reviews. It will only be used for this selection
process and not posted by us. It does not matter if you have posted
it on the net or Amazon already. It will simply be a sample of your
work....nothing more, nothing less. We are seeking reviews that
have some substance to them, so a simple 1 or 2 liner won't
suffice.
3. You must be committed to reviewing
at least 1 Romance title per month.
Like other reviewers for the site, the books are your payment. The
books will be yours to keep. We ask that you do not resell the
books are many of them are advance reader copies and are only meant
for review purposes.
4. You must submit a
short bio with your
email submission. You bio should include your name, location,
favorite authors and books, and a description on why you want to be
a Romance reviewer for Urban Reviews. A picture of yourself is not
necessary.
5. Only serious inquiries
are desired. If you do
not think that you can submit quality reviews on a monthly basis,
please refrain from entering. Please remember that authors depend
on these reviews to be fair and practical. Remember, these reviews
are usually used by the featured authors on their website, their
publisher's website, Amazon.com, BN.com, press releases,
promotional material, and more.
Our selection process will
start on April 2nd and run until May
15th. Please submit your
entry (bio, sample reviews, and any accompanying info that may help
us pick a reviewer) to
romance@urban-reviews.com during this time.
We will review all entries at
that time and announce the winner on our website on June 1, 2008 as
well as in the June 2008 edition of our monthly newsletter. The
reviewer will be notified a day or two before via email. We will
then request their mailing address and send off the first book to
them so that it can be featured in the July 2008 update to coincide
with our Three Year
Anniversary.
